Jubei is the child of a great Zoid weapons developer, inheriting both the passion for the battle and the ingenuity for weapons development from his mother. He never knew his father...all he knew about him was that he died in a non-sanctioned Zoid battle. His mother shunned away her life as an inventor because it was the weapons she built that had killed the man she loved so dear. She even went as far as forbidden Jubei from pursuing a career as a pilot, forcing him to battle his heritage. One day, an old business rival sent a group of mercenaries to steal his mother's weapons plans that she had never issude out, and in defense of her home, she was struck down in cold blood. From that moment on, Jubei decided to begin the life of a Zoid pilot, starting off with his father's trusted Heldigunner. Now, he is a seasoned pilot not to be reckoned with, though he himself has gotten a bit soft in his short-term retirement.
